The W. Douglas Bergman Good Samaritan Fund

The W.Douglas Bergman Good Samaritan Fund was created by the family and friends to honor Doug and his wish to help people and animals in need.

The Bergman family have been friends of Jamacha Vet Clinic since the early years with Dr. Uchimura.  I was lucky enough that Doug and his wife transferred their loyalty to me when I took over.  Doug and his three wonderful labs were regular visitors.  Doug's wit and intelligence were captivating; it was always a pleasure to be in his presence.  We knew when we saw Doug on the schedule that we would be in for a very entertaining hour.  He was in his element socializing in the lobby with other clients.  His office had been in El Cajon for years and he often would run into friends while at JVC. Our conversations would range from politics, business, travel and  how one day he would like to start an animal sanctuary.  Doug was far too young to have left us.  I can't even begin to fathom the hole he left behind in the lives of his wife, family and friends.  He left an indelible imprint on my life.  I think of Doug every time a  Labrador with a "happy tail"  visits us at the clinic.  Doug's family and friends have stepped forward to help pets in need.  We thank the Bergman family and friends from the bottom of our hearts and we hope that they know that their genuine kindness has had a positive impact on many people and animals.  I know Doug with his old yellow lab Ben by his side will be watching us with a little smile on his face as we do our best for those pets who can't help themselves.

If you would like to be part of Doug's legacy and champion a pet in need please contact us.
